REFLECTION HUMAN RIGHTS ISSUE

I was aiming for Analyse, and I’ve hit most of the semi-categories within that. I also wanted to heard towards LINK on the IDEAL mountain, and I've achieved SOME of them. I have achieved most things at the start of the ladder, but started only semi-achieving towards the end. 

I feel that I've hit Analyse, and definitely TRIED to move on to LINK.

Next time I would organise the media part of my outcome, the iMovie of pictures. It didn’t really work, and some of the pictures didn’t relate to my story. I think I rushed that bit. I liked writing and reading my story, so I think I would keep that the same.

1. A team is a group of people who work together to produce an outcome. Teamwork is when this team works well and everyone participates to help each other solve a problem.
2. A successful team is a team that is respectful of other opinions, but that works together to create one strong opinion. They also use teamwork to organise the process of building and presenting the outcome.
3. I think this team can be on the analyse part of the level ladder, but the individuals can also focus on their own expectations.

I think I am a shaper, because, although I don't like upsetting people to get the task done, I do tend to want to get things done, and I like to take everyone's opinion and put it in to one strong opinion. I feel like in some areas, if I don't take charge, then nothing will get done. I don't really like this bit in my personality, because when I work in a team with another shaper, there are conflicts and people tend to dislike me at that time.

I've done the scores, and I am four characters in the team roles. The three highest scores are Resource Investigator (which got 12 points) and Shaper (which also got 12 points), but interestingly my highest was an Implementer, which got 16 points. It was interesting that I got an implementer, but there are some characteristics that match with my personality, the quote "They are not afraid of hard work and prefer to tackle tasks in a systematic way" proves that.

Deciding on my concept 

The category I've chosen in the Human Rights topic is Child Labour, as highlighted on my mind map. I have chosen child labour because I know I have been very lucky in my life, I've had choices, options, and I've had a very healthy and fulfilling life as a child. I can't imagine what it would be like if these things were taken away from me. I think we need to help these children who don't have these things, and that work 8 hours a day, and who are only as young as six years old. If we do this, it will create a better future, with no poverty, no hunger, no war. Everything is linked ("no poverty - education - job - money - food = HEALTHY LIFESTYLE" or "no poverty - no war over money - peace = HEALTHY WORLD).

 1 - The top is going to be made out of binliners, because one of the jobs for Children in poor countries is to pick up rubbish from the rubbish tip.
2 - It's a polo neck to show the kind of strangulation and being removed from a healthy life. Also the children are tortured a lot, some of the methods might be strangulation.
3 - It's tight to show how skinny and how deprived of food the children are.

I can pinpoint the individual story, but now I need to work on seeing it from other people's perspectives and link on the IDEAL level ladder. 

31st October 
- I can write a "pre-verse" before my story that describes my issue and the rights removed.
- I will continue to write my story, but write it from a readers point of view, because they might not know or understand some of the knowledge I already know.

SC REFLECTION
I have written my "pre-verse" and now I need to analyse my story and try and see it from a readers point of view. 

1st November 
- I can feel empathy for other people and include it in my story.

I have written things from the my main characters point of view, and have captured the emotions that they might feel.
I am writing from the point of view people who destroyed the main characters life.

- I can work efficiently but quickly.

I've worked quickly and I think I can finish my outcome by tomorrow.

- I can finish my outcome!
- I can end my outcome with a cliffhanger that makes people want to read more.

My Issue
My issue is asylum seekers. I am reading a book at the moment called The Other Hand, which follows the life of a Nigerian refugee trapped in a detention centre in the UK. I’m really interested in this and how it’s handled in different areas. That’s why I chose asylum seekers.

Asylum Seekers (difference between asylum seekers and refugees: asylum seeker are people who are waiting to here a decision from the government that is whether they can stay in the country, refugees are people who have heard a positive decision and they are allowed to stay in the country they  asylum from (actual definition: people who have fled from their home country for reasons of war, abandonment etc).

c)   Why is this issue considered a human rights issue?
This is a human rights issue because when you’re a refugee, it takes away the right to shelter. The organizations have to give you clean food and water, although the conditions aren’t very nice.
